Coffee has always been something special for me. From a very early age, I was hooked on fresh ground whole bean coffee brewed in our Sunbeam vacuum pot. In those days, there were three choices of fresh, high quality whole bean coffees all sold at our local A & P -- hard to believe today! Mom and Dad always bought Bokar, their finest, and it was my job to set the store grinder to "Vacuum Pot" and grind the coffee.  What a great aroma.  

After college I decided to pursue coffee professionally and began the process of developing many of the same techniques we use today. In the early 1980's I looked for every opportunity to immerse myself in coffee -- whether it was spending time with green coffee experts in San Francisco and Hamburg, visiting the most advanced and modern roasting facilities in Europe, or even spending days in the basement of an espresso shop in Rome hand roasting coffee on a vintage wood burning 1916 Probat roaster.

After years of research and planning, we began building our first roasting plant in 1983. We purchased some of the finest German and Italian machinery from Probat and Fresco.  We were small and grew very slowly during those first few formative years. We opened our first retail store in 1984 and slowly but surely we built a devoted fan base.

Our current roasting plant gives us enormous flexibility and capacity to roast and blend coffee in many different formats including whole bean, pre-ground, pods and single serve cups. We utilize the newest convection technology, and the oldest technology too.  Our vintage 1961 direct-fired, double-walled, Probat drum roaster allows us to achieve the best very dark roasts, without the burned or charred profile modern roasting ovens deliver. We can even blend the finished products to deliver the best of both!  Whether it's a fully-developed dark roast or a "third wave" light roast, we have the best equipment, technologies and techniques to deliver an exceptional cup.

Euro Coffee started as gourmet coffee importers and roasters, and we remain so today. We are honored to roast coffee for some of the finest brands in the world including Gelson's Markets, Wolfgang Puck Coffees and First Choice Services, the largest office coffee service in the United States.

Since 1984 we want to thank our customers, our loyal team members and suppliers.  It takes all three elements to be successful.  The next generation is in place here and learning at Euro Coffee so we can all anticipate great coffee at fair prices will continue to be our future.
